6–7–8 February at SamuExpo. We will also be presenting a high-precision fibre laser cutting machine, developed in collaboration with the University of Udine. Together with students from the Department of Engineering and Architecture, led by Professor Giovanni Totis, we conducted applied engineering research that analysed performance, processed data and explored alternatives until we found the best solution. We initially decided to manufacture the laser head support axis from aluminium. Once we had succeeded, we took a further risk: making it from carbon fibre. Mission accomplished! The machine’s performance, already impressive, improved immediately because carbon fibre is particularly lightweight, thereby increasing the machine’s speed and responsiveness.
Would you like to find out more about this research? We look forward to seeing you at our stand on Thursday 6 February at 11am.
