Customer: Elba, Treviso
Elba is a brand for the production of built-in hobs and kitchen appliances in general, based in the province of Treviso (north east of Italy) that has a long history, beginning in the 1950’s. Among the first companies in the world to develop built-in ovens and hobs in the 1970s, today they sell 40% of their products in Europe and 60% in the rest of the world.
Customer’s request
The contact began during a phase of internal reorganization of the production of the Elba brand, which also brought with it the revision of their production processes with a view to optimizing time and resources. The molding phase for the making of the recessed cooktops had been identified as one of the elements to be improved and made more streamlined.
The request to Applyca was to precisely allow faster flat and convex sheet metal cutting and, possibly, to represent a flexible 3D cutting process, usable for different applications.
Applyca’s solution
We provided a customized version of our fiber laser 2Kw Robot Cube which we made a robotic system for cutting flat and convex sheets for the production of cooking appliances.
Thanks to the 5 axis in use, we get a very precise cut using a 3D system.
The correct positioning of the head is generated by a special software, developed by Applyca technicians.
The software has made cutting much faster and precise with a positive impact on the reduction of production times and, consequently, of the costs of semi-finished products.
This Customized Robo Laser Cube 5-axis cutting system in which the correct positioning of the 3D head is achieved thanks to a special software developed by Applyca.
